“The web’s most convenient, secure and cost-effective payments solution.” – PayPal Vision Statement.
A company’s vision statement highlights the ideal reality that can be realized through that company’s activities; it’s about what it aspire to be. While a vision statement may contain descriptions of how the company intends to make its envisioned future into a reality, the “how” questions are not known to be a part of a mission statement. A vision statement is a detailed description of the “what,” meaning, what the company envies and hopes to work with.
A vision statement is not necessarily set in stone; it can be adjusted or deleted as necessary. It may be changed or removed, but it should be changed or deleted as little as possible, because a vision statement is the framework for the company’s strategic plan, thus it should only be modified or deleted in the least amount possible. The company’s vision may change as the organization adapts to its environment over time.

Best of all, a vision statement changes over time as your organization matures. Once your goal is met or upgraded, it’s time to read a new vision statement. This creates a greater degree of expectancy with regard to realizing goals, and increases your opportunities to do business.
