Thermodynamic Equilibrium

Thermodynamic equilibrium is a state of balance in which the energy of a system is constant.

The system is in equilibrium when it is at a state of maximal entropy, meaning that there is no longer any net directional flow of energy in the system.

In other words, the system has reached a state of equilibrium where it is maximally disordered.
