Procrustes analysis is a method of analyzing variance in data. It is a way to reduce the variability of measurements or observations by adjusting them so that they fit a common model.
The method is named after Procrustes, a figure in Greek mythology who was said to have pieced people back together after they had been cut apart by his sword.
