Lewontin’s Fallacy

Lewontin’s Fallacy is a type of error that occurs when scientists use statistics to analyze data.

Lewontin’s Fallacy is named after the Harvard biologist, Stephen Jay Lewontin. Lewontin argued that genetics does not control the amount of variation in a population, but rather the environment does.

This argument is known as the ‘environmental determinism’ thesis.
