Invariant Extended Kalman Filter

The invariant extended Kalman filter (IEKF) is a nonlinear regression estimator used in statistics. It is an extension of the Kalman filter, which is a linear filtering algorithm.

The IEKF uses a covariance matrix to update its prediction error and covariance matrix iterations produce a smoother filter. This makes the IEKF more accurate in tracking changes over time.
