Homogeneity (statistics)

A statistical study is designed to measure the degree of heterogeneity among a set of objects, events, or samples.

This term is most often used in the context of studying human populations.

The more homogeneous the population, the less variability there will be among its members. Conversely, a population that is highly heterogeneous will exhibit a high degree of variability among its members.
