The aim of this paper is to provide a novel method for estimating the good Turing frequency, or the average number of times a function is executed in a given time period.
We propose a novel estimator which is based on the observation that most functions are repetitive, and that the probability of encountering a new instance of the function in a given time period is proportional to its occurrence frequency in previous time periods.
