Gompertz function

The Gompertz function is a statistical tool used to model the probability of an event occurring over time. The Gompertz function is used to understand how variations in a variable (such as population growth) affect the probability of an event (such as a disease spreading).

The Gompertz function is named after the German agriculturalist, Dr. Gustav Friedrich Gompertz, who first proposed its use in the 1850s.
