Deviance Information Criterion

The Deviance Information Criterion (DIC) is a measure of the distance between two groups on a dimension of deviance.

It was developed by sociologists to study crime and delinquency. The DIC involves assigning each group a score on a dimension of deviance, and then calculating the distance between the scores.

The closer two groups are on the dimension of deviance, the higher their DIC score will be.
