Confirmation Bias

Confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias that refers to the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one’s preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.

This occurs even when the information presented is contrary to the individual’s beliefs. It is also known as confirmatory bias, myside bias, or selection bias.
